Kenny Who portrays the serious hidden side of Actor, Shane Jacobson.
This portrait takes the viewer away from the well known surface of an actor playing the role of the larrikin Aussie we affectionately know as ‘Kenny’ and expresses a deeper more emotional and quite serious view of Shane’s hidden personality. With determined engaging blue eyes, searching out from the chaos, and often struggling life as an actor, who is only now being recognised for his abilities. The unpainted areas of canvas reflect that much of Shane’s work is yet to be completed.
As an artist we have the opportunity to explore and capture the intricate complexities and expressions that make up the unique individualism of the evolving human face. The craft of photo-realism or a picture can tell a thousand words; but a painting can tell infinitely more especially over time.
I love the challenges and the interaction of portrayed painting with the subject; having painted for the Archibald such people as Rex Hunt, Wilbur Wilde, Brian Cadd and Shane Jacobson.
