Best wishes to all participants in the 2010 Variety Childrens Bash!
The official bash commences on Wednesday 11th of August in Ballarat and over 400 bashers will travel for 11 days across Australia to Margaret River.
As the Ambassador for Parkinson’s 2010 Unity Walk, I’m encouraging Australians to walk and help find a cure for Parkinson’s on Sunday August 29th 2010 at 11.00am.
Parkinson’s 2010 Unity Walk, hosted by Parkinson’s Victoria, is the largest fundraising and awareness raising event of its kind in Victoria. It’s a fun way to join friends, family and hundreds of other supporters to make a difference in the lives of people with Parkinson’s.
Parkinson’s is something that has touched me personally; both my Mother and Uncle have Parkinson’s and the Unity Walk is the chance for those close to them to help raise funds, engage in physical activity and create awareness for the support services available. In this photo is my Mum Jill and Step Dad David at last years walk.

On June 17th we were thrilled to raise over $20,000 at the 2010 Mirabel Charity Luncheon. The luncheon also included a preview screening of ‘Polly and Me’, a dramatic short film by award-winning writer and director Ian Darling. The film tells the story of one little girl who has fallen between the cracks and reminds us that just because we don’t see her, it doesn’t mean she isn’t there. The Mirabel Foundation supports children orphaned or abandoned due to parental illicit drug use. With me in this photo are Jane Rowe (Mirabel) and Ian Darling (Director of ‘Polly and Me’).
Shane, in his role as ambassador for the Variety Children’s Charity, shows us what to expect from 2010’s Variety Bash, a huge motoring fundraiser traveling over 3000 kms from Ballarat to Margaret River.
Spencer Mclaren, Caroline O’Connor, Sandra Sciberras, Kate Whitbread and I attend the 2010 Dungog FIlm Festival to introduce the film ‘Surviving Georgia‘ at its world premiere.
