Channel Nine welcomes its new Top Gear Australia line up !

Production has started on the first series of Top Gear Australia for the Nine Network, which will be presented by a lineup of car buffs who will fuel the viewers’ love of motoring. Shane Jacobson, Ewen Page and Steven Pizzati will front the new Aussie version of the hit program that starts production today in a secret location. The boys bring a wealth of local knowledge and experience to the Top Gear format which has become a global phenomenon.

“We look forward to welcoming the Top Gear Australia crew to the network. Shane, Ewen and Steve as hosts will provide the passion, humour and skill to bring a real Australian feel to this highly successful program format,” Michael Healy, Nine’s Director of Programming, said.

Surviving Georgia – World Premiere screening

The Dungog Film Festival, the world’s biggest showcase of Australian film, has announced the official program that includes the world premiere screening of ‘Surviving Georgia‘ starring Shane Jacobson, Pia Miranda, Holly Valance and Spencer McLaren. Now in it’s fourth year, the Dungog Film Festival will run over a four-day weekend from 27 – 30 May 2010.

Shane joins the cast of a short film for the Untitled feature produced by Peter Farrelly (Producer behind hits such as Dumb & Dumber and There’s Something About Mary) and Charles B. Wessler. ‘The Apprentice‘, which will be co-directed by Steve Baker & Damon Escott, begins shooting in Melbourne this week. The project is one of many short comedy films to be produced and released as one film later this year.

Shane Jacobson recently launched the new Rio Tinto ‘Life Flight’jet which was purchased by RFDS Western Operations with the help of a $5 million sponsorship by Rio Tinto. The jet service will provide a fast response service and first-class medical care to seriously ill patients in need of evacuation to hospital when time and distance are critical.
