JENNY CRAIG
20 kilos in 20 weeks – June 2011
“Yeah Baby !! Yihaaa !!! I have crossed the finish line! I have lost 20kg and can honestly say, I feel fantastic – even better than I thought that I would.
When I started this journey, I was given support by people on the street, my family and my mates. Now people are saying that I look amazing! I’ve even had people coming up to me on the street saying that I have inspired them to make healthier life choices, which is nice to know.
I’ve always enjoyed making people laugh but to be able to inspire them to make wiser choices about the foods that they eat and encourage them to do a little bit of exercise in order to live a happier and healthier life – that truly makes me feel even better.
I’m really enjoying the exercise now. As a bloke, I love a challenge and I’m finding myself wanting to push my comfort levels on the treadmill and not seeing exercise as something that I have to do – it’s now something that I want to do.
My tailor in the western suburbs of Melbourne is about to buy himself a sports car because I keep having to have my suits taken in. Being a guy, I tend not to like to shop for clothes and hesitate in getting rid of some old sentimental favourite shirts so I’m just having them taken in rather than throwing them out.
But do you know the best news so far? Because I’ve lost the weight both my blood pressure and cholesterol are back to normal. And I am stoked to say that I a now completely off medication. The other day when I went to see my doctor he told me he was proud of me, that was something I never thought I would hear from my doctor. It was honestly the best medication he had ever given me.
My partner is over the moon. She thinks I look so much happier and healthier and dare I say it … she thinks I look a little bit sexier too, which I don’t mind being told! I now have more energy to do the things that I want to do with my family and with the kids.
Thanks to my coach/consultant/pit crew but most of all my new friend Adele and Jenny Craig, I am going to take what I have been taught and pack them in my little suitcase and travel with them always because it is the things I learnt along the way about portion control, healthy choice and a little exercise that I take away from my journey.
So, it turns out that joining Jenny Craig is one of the best things I have done. I can officially say I feel on top of the world. Shane!”

16 weeks with Jenny Craig – May 2011
“So I’ve lost 16.2kgs in 16 weeks. I can now say, having finished all my madness with Top Gear, that I have a little bit of time at home which means I’m dialing more exercise into my routine. It’s funny because my mindset has definitely changed.
It’s not just about losing the weight now; I want to look fit. Once the weight starts to fall off what you start to see is the shape you’ve got left behind and you get to see what muscles you’ve got left from your youth. And I’ve got to be honest; they’re not that impressive. I’m actually going to have to go and pump some iron! Of course when you carry the weight you have a bigger belly and your face is a bit fatter and you carry more around the neck, but now you can actually start to sculpt yourself a little bit and go ‘how do I want to look now that I have a choice?’. As a result, I’m getting in a few extra sessions a week.
Still noticing heaps of changes! The thing my partner is enjoying most about me being on Jenny Craig is that fact I don’t snore as much. As a result it actually means I’m getting better sleep because I think I’m sleeping more solidly. So that’s all good.
I’m feeling very confident and positive about reaching my goal weight of 20kgs. It’s less than 4kgs to go! To be quite honest now, it’s easy. Dare I say, it’s a walk in the park. And that’s exactly what it is that my partner and I do – we go for walks in the park. So is it a walk in the park? Yes! Can you do it without a walk in the park? No you can’t. You’ve got to go for a walk in the park every now and then.
Having a ball with it. Shane!”
