WHEN I GROW UP
Due for broadcast on Channel 9 in 2010
Shane is the host of ‘When I Grow Up’ – a series about the funny things young Australian kids say and do.
During the filming of the show we become privy to our world through the eyes of a 4 – 7 year old. From the mouths of babes we hear a very entertaining perspective on the world we live in, covering all those important things like politics, global warming, where money comes from, what happens when it’s raining cats and dogs and how milk is made.
The series features interviews with children, candid camera stunts, vox pops and children interviewing celebrities.
So far our children have interviewed Ronan Keating, Sophie Monk, Deni Hines. We will also be interviewing Kate Ellis and Tony Abbott. We also have a child who appears at red carpet events to interview the stars.
We feature well known comedians to either pull candid pranks on the kids or help the kids pull candid pranks on adults. Eg. by helping them become researchers on the streets, approaching the public candidly about their fashion sense or their political persuasions. Some of these comedians are Fiona O’Loughlin, Tom Gleeson, Colin Lane, Peter Berner and Carl Barron.
Some of the stunts we have pulled on children are leaving them to run a temperamental ice cream van, or seeing them face the dilemma of having overfed a goldfish that has since been switched with one five times its size.
However, some of the funniest moments in the show are the simple one on one interviews with our host, Shane Jacobson as he learns all about the world through the eyes of his entertaining and enthusiastic young guests.
